Picnicking
Cynthia's is in a remote area of the Mojave Desert. In a city there are lots of restaurants, many open till late at night-but not here. (See Dining Out, below). Therefore, we strongly recommend you bring your own food. We provide everything else that you need to prepare your meals and enjoy them in our dining rooms and picnic areas.

Cynthia's Guesthouse and Hostel

Hostel and Guest Rooms
Guests enjoy a full kitchen with all cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans. Sponges, towels and dish soap are provided just as at home. Stovetop cooking, microwave, toaster and coffee pot are provided. There is a table in the kitchen and other tables just outside the kitchen door on our deck, which is shaded by a large cottonwood tree.

Tipis
We recommend dining al fresco in the picnic areas of our beautiful backyard. Don't forget fixings to make "s'mores" (an American campfire treat) over the fires we provide outside in winter, weather permitting. Inside our charming 1920s cottage, you'll find dining tables, a microwave, guest refrigerator, toaster, coffee and tea. Our staff takes care of washing your dishes.

Dining out

There are three local restaurants, but their hours and menus are limited. Pastel’s Bistro in Tecopa Hot Springs is a two-mile drive from our office. Crowbar and C’est si Bon Cafés are in Shoshone and are a ten-mile drive from our office.
